Dante’s Gourmet Burrito - Peterborough, Ontario

I was living in Peterborough from 2015 to 2017. I once checked my credit card statement - I had spent > $6k eating Dante's gourmet burrito. That's how much I loved it 😂 even after leaving Peterborough, I came a couple of timea a year to eat here. Owners and servers ... knew me by the face as I went there almost everyday. Fast forward to the visit today, I have seen noticable changes in the burrito. The quality and taste isn't at the same level. White steamed basmati rice is replaced by a cheap rice Chicken spices have changed Grilled veggies composition has changed - I think I just saw onion and red pepper The quality and taste has gone down and doesn't feel at the same level. As soon as I walked in the door, I could tell it was going to be a delicious meal by the smell in the air. I was greeted warmly by the staff and was very well served. I've noticed a huge change in the sizes of the burrito bowls. They have been shrinking for the past few months. A few weeks ago I bought a bowl and it was half the size of the original bowl. Same price. Now the price dropped about 5 bucks, but now ... the bowl is the size of a side salad. Also the rice was dry as hell, when the worker scooped it, the ball of rice fell into the bowl he had to smash it with his scoop to seperate it. Also it was like talking to a robot. Yes boss, thanks boss. I asked for everything in hopes that it would give me more food since the rice was so little. I had to go out and find something else to eat. For a restaurant that is just stealing the word of month of best in town for as long as they can before being run out of town, just leave and shut down. Nobody wants to be screwed over from a restaurant that is now serving food you could just make five times the amount at home for the same price. Completely unacceptable. Read more

2 years ago I had the best burrito I’ve ever had In my life there, original owners sold it. New owners need to iron out some kinks. Portion size for a 20$ burrito was abysmal, very cheap on toppings, didn’t taste as I remembered. I don’t Know if that was ... because I was a little off put for having to bargain for the toppings I wanted or if it has gotten worse in respect to quality but. Legitimately disappointed. Best burrito bowl I've ever eaten in my life & I'm not even joking. If a burrito bowl does not have chipotle but still AMAZES you, that's how you know the flavours are on point. Really great two sauces, I forgot the name. Amazing bowl. I'm impressed. Love it.
