The Best Buffet in all of Peterborough. These JapChae Noodles are the Most Unique Noodles I've Ever Had in My Life. Each strand of noodle is see-through, slimy, & thin. It tastes more like Chinese cuisine because of the Wok flavour that you taste even though being a Korean dish. Great experience. Everything was fresh and well portioned. It's nice the lunch rolls are 4 PC as I was dining alone so it gave me a chance to try more options. Highly recommend the crab or salmon "popper" which is essentially a sushi pizza but a thicker rice patty piled ... high with fish and drizzled with sauce. Pork was crispy but still juicy. I’ve been here many times over the years (especially Tora Bistro, which I believe is under the same ownership) and have never had any complaints. Most of the food I tried at Madoi was good, other than their sushi which completely lacks flavour. When I had gone yesterday with my ... younger sister for lunch to celebrate her birthday. As I’m about to check out, the cashier is asking for my sister’s ID because she doesn’t believe she’s 11…. She tells me that my sister is 14-15. And that I need to show ID to prove her age. First of all, what kind of ID does an 11 year old that’s in grade 5 even carry around with her? Second of all, I have been to many all-you-can-eat places in Peterborough (including Madoi several times) with my younger sister and never have I encountered this. As someone who comes from a family that owns several restaurants in this city, I was shocked at how terrible the customer service is at Madoi. Not only was this disrespectful and unprofessional behaviour from the Madoi staff, but also so hurtful to a child that went there to celebrate her birthday and was being accused of being older. The cashier starts telling me about how they had a customer come in and pretend to be an 11 year old when they were really 25. I don’t know what that has to do with me, or why she was telling me that to justify her accusations. Overall, I personally would not recommend this place when there’s many other places in Peterborough that not only have better food, but much superior service. Read more

We had dinner at Madoi for the first time and omg the foods are delicious. Cannot believe that the short ribs are well-cooked. Sushi are so good and the fishes are so fresh. Many selection on the menu and the servers are wonderfull too. Servers are attentive and so friendly ... since they kept asking for the food and our feedbacks. The decorations for the restaurant are so cute with little mini cat hanging arounds. Loving the atmosphere and the vibes. I liked it here! I went there on a Sunday and paid $28.99 (minus tax) for lunch. The portions are worth the price (that’s if you order a lot of food and you can finish). Food preparation time was quick. The food was tasty; I ordered a variety. I loved that a ... waitress came to constantly check on me. However, another waitress came, dropped my food and just walked away like that (she didn’t seem welcoming; it would be nice to smile at least). Don’t just rush the drop the food and leave. And please ask before you take an empty plate from the table, rather than just taking it. Also, the entrance was quite appalling because of some permanent stains there. Overall, I think the place is good and I will come again. The best time to go is on Sunday afternoon because it is cheaper. Although, it may be crowded and hot.
