Wimpy’s Diner - Peterborough, Ontario

Since new management, the place itself looks much cleaner. And the wait staff has always been friendly to me but unfortunately, the prices just aren't worth it. The food is good but its ridiculously overpriced. Last time I went, all I had was a small bowl of fries with gravy ... and a bottle of pop (not even out of the machine, just a bottle of pop) and it came to over $8. And the hours aren't very convenient. It says they're open till 8 on the Wimpy's website but they're not. Only open till 3pm so I guess they only serve breakfast and lunch now. Read more

We have been to this location twice in the past month. Both times the food was sub par. I would say 2.5/5 for quality. The biggest issue is the service. Both times we went we had a waitress that was new. Now I get that someone who is new makes ... mistakes. The problem I have is that both waitresses had been there over a week. They both got my own as well as my better half's order very wrong. We got an apology. That's it. No bill reduction no coupon. Just a pat on the head. What's even worse is the second time we went they charged for the breakfast we asked for but didn't get. I had to argue with the waitress and insist she charge us only what we got and not what we didn't get. After 20 minutes they finally changed the bill. It's unfortunate as well with the new management that took over. That will be the last time we stop in. Knowing that it is under new ownership/management, four of us went for lunch, yesterday, and had a great experience. An extensive menu! Good portions! Great taste! Fine service!

Bad Service! Don't get me wrong the food is great, the cook does a job well done. But that's not my issue with this place. One of the servers there, is never in positive mood. Now last time I checked customers want to come into an establishment and feel welcomed.Well ... this is never the case with this girl. I never see her smile, nor have a great attitude. Always slouchy, seems like she doesn't like her job, or even want to be there. Pretty much sounds like a robot or that she dreads serving costumers even. She never once comes to my table asking how the food is, asking about refills ect. It was just horrible. Not once did she come back after we ordered, and received the food. Only time she came back was to clean up and give us the bill. My boyfriend had to go to the counter and ask her for refills. Her back was turned to him, she was on her phone. She ignored him. He actually had to go to the cook to ask for the drinks. We didn't even bother tipping her either when we paid. Had to ask the cook if he gets any of the tips. Nope, he doesn't. Tips are not shared through staff. Because of the servers poor work ethics, I will not be going back again! Honestly she should get fired, I'm sure a lot of costumers have had issues with her. I have to agree with Mark. I used to love this place too. I have not been in a few years. As i have moved. The service was Terrible the resturant was filthy and my philly stake sandwich came on a hot dog bun.Even trying to pay was a nightmare. ... JUNK!!!
