Smitty’s - Peterborough, Ontario

We went on Wednesday around 3 pm. After our oversized meal we left tried to reenter to make a taxi call & were locked out at 4 pm. That is my only downer for this place. The meals were huge to fit the prices under $20 plus the waitress ... was top notch. Mozzarella Burger could have used a clam shell for the doggy bag. With an obvious convention or tourists going on at Holiday across the street it is hard to understand why more people don't use it except the 7 pm closing. I go here whenever I am close. I have visited this dining place of Smitty's many times, food is healthy, testy flavors, beautiful presented, cooked to perfection and excellent. The menu offers a great varieties of option with great special dish everyday. Service is outstanding professionalism and friendliness. New young owner is enthusiastic, kind and ... quick responsive. We were greeted with genuine smiles and made to feel very welcome. The wait staff is attentive with more recommendations and ready to answer any questions. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, perfectly balancing a cozy atmosphere with elegant decor. Lastly, a special thanks to the new owner, who took the time to visit our table and ensure everything was to our satisfaction. I highly recommend Smitty's and we will definitely be returning soon ! Friendly service great food. I like food piping hot but turkey was only warm. My husband had liver with onions and gravey. He said it's the best ever. I had turkey dinner. Tasty but not hot enough. Perfect Home-Style Turkey Dinner. The dish was so warm & inviting & delicious. The turkey was cooked just like home. The stuffing here was a great compliment. Vegetables great as always. The hero here is the gravy because it is a light gravy that combines the turkey, stuffing, & mashed potatoes ... altogether. So heart-warming & nice. Perfect dish. Love it. Also, very friendly staff.
