The steak was great, cooked the way we asked, not too salty. Server checked on us regularly, filled our water, quick service. Mashed potatoes were great as well. I sat and thought about the rating for a while. I will preface my negative review with the positive note that the 4 others I dined with all enjoyed their meals a lot, they were incredibly satisfied and impressed with everything and if they were the type to write reviews ... they would probably have given a 4 or 5 star review. I however was very disappointed. I would give a 1 star for my meal but since everyone else enjoyed their meals I bumped up to a 2. I had the vegetarian shepherds pie. In the photo i already had a forkfull removed for a first bite and you can see how shallow the dish is filled, maybe about 1-1½cm deep of food in the dish, really felt like a snack if anything. If it were to all be scraped in to a measuring cup, it would be maybe ½cup or ⅔ cup. Its mashed potatoes, lentils, peas, carrots....cheap ingredients so not sure why such a skimpy serving. It was also served so unexpectedly scalding hot that I burned the roof of my mouth and its been slowly and painfully healing all week. This is where I debated on a 3/5 star for service (server was nice although things were slow coming out, not the servers fault for that i believe) but went with 2/5 out of a bit of spite for not getting a warning that it would be dangerously hot and having to tolerate a painful mouth sore all week. We had an amazing meal. We were so excited about the food we forgot to take all the photos. I had the bacon scallops to start with the steak and lobster as main. My husband had Mushroom Neptune to start and chicken with lobster for the main. The food was ... perfectly cooked. Lots of gluten free options. Our Server Albert was fantastic. Keg is always great and this visit didn't disappoint!! Our server was so sweet. We had the crispy cauliflower appetizer and wow it was so super delicious. The server warned us it might be a little spicy as the dipping sauce was a chipotle sauce, we we found it ... not too spicy at all, just delicious!! I ordered the 10 Oz classic prime rib and it was done to perfection. It came with a Caesar salad. The crispy onions I love, the mushrooms delightful. I chose the cauliflower mash and it's a great option if you're watching your carbs! My sister ordered the filet mignon and again was quite happy with it. Mom opted for two appetizers as her meal, chosing the crab cakes and the lobster bisque. It looked amazing and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. Dessert we opted to share a Billy Miner pie and omg it was better than I'd remembered. I had occasion to use the ladies room and it was clean and well appointed. food was wonderful. steak cooked beautifully as i requested. portion was great too. my only complaint is the calamari was a bit chewy/rubbery which i was surprised about. the dips with it were delicious but as others also mentioned before, not big enough for the amount of calamari plated. waitress ... never refilled our waters… and was busy chatting away for way too long with her other tables instead of tending to us. would return forsure just hope we get a different waitress next time😊 Read more
