Cash only authentic viet spot. $5 non-pretentious banh mi’s, best in Ottawa in my opinion as someone from Calgary that has a thriving viet food scene. Great iced viet coffees too, and a huge assortment of viet desserts and snacks. Affordable and just hits the spot!!

I waited half an hour today for my order of tofu subs, while a parade of people after me all got their orders before me. When I finally arrived home, I realized that they gave me the wrong order and every single sub was assorted meat. Luckily I’m not actually a ... vegetarian, but today’s service was absolutely horrible. Instead of apologizing to me for the wait, the gentleman just yelled at me to order on the phone next time. I don’t know why I need to do that, especially when people who came after me placed an order in person and still got their subs before me. I want to support small businesses and have been a regular. The service is always terrible, but I continue going because I really enjoy their tofu sub. I don’t think it’s worth it after today. I go there often, and the lady is always grumpy. I generally always leave a tip but she’s still mean. The first time I went to the store, she even yelled at me to not take money out of the tip cup. I didn’t take anything, I was putting money in. Every corner of this cash only takeout shop has so much charm. The loud Vietnamese music is usually an energetic or nostalgic vibe. I think of the sandwiches as humble and correct in terms of the ingredients and how they come together with each satisfying bite. I normally order the ... A1 on the menu.
