The Original Georgie’s Pizza & Subs - Ottawa, Ontario

First and last time for me. Ordered the Greek pizza. I get it and it's absolutely smothered in shredded cheese (on top of the feta that it comes with). I did not want that. One of the reasons I ordered the Greek. Husband went back ... in and staff told him all the pizzas come with the cheese. WHY would you put shredded pizza cheese on a GREEK pizza that already has feta? There was nothing stating this on the website when I ordered the pizza. Nothing on the menu board in the place, and nothing on the paper menu. After I picked as much of the cheese off as I could, it became clear why they did it - the toppings were absolutely pitiful. Between what was stuck in the cheese and what was left on my soggy thin crust, there wasn't even a small handful of toppings. Just completely and utterly disappointing. Read more

I had their pizza for the first time on Friday and I loved it. I got the combo. The sauce had a really unique zest to it. And all the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The price was comparable to other places, the service was quick, and the folks there ... were friendly. They also have a seating area in the building. I'll definitely order from them again. I thought this pizza was one of the better pizzas I’ve ever had in Ottawa after living here for 20 years. The sauce is really good. The cheese is very rich and perfectly melted. Crust is light but thick. I will go back. Apparently the steak ... sub is the bomb too. Read more

This is a great lunch stop. The construction in the area makes it a bit of a challenge to get to but the sun sandwiches are worth it. I ordered a chicken sub with everything on it. It's not sliced deli chicken, they use real chunks of roasted chicken. ... Just be warned the full sub is very filling. Overall: 8 / 10 Crust: 8 / 10 Fluffy and chewy. Sauce: 8.5 / 10 Star of the show. Tangy and very nicely seasoned, deep and rich flavour. Lots of it, no need to order extra. Compliments the crust very well. Cheese: 8 / 10 Quality cheese and plenty of it. Has a slightly aged flavour. Probably ... the most consistent pizza in Ottawa. Been eating here for over 20 years.
