Buyers beware! Manager Ali changes prices at the cash register to suit him. Today I went to go buy some olive oil that I can only find at this store in the area. The price on the shelf was listed as 62.99. It rung up at the cash register as 64.99. I mention ... the price difference and the employee goes to verify, and confirms the price is in fact 62.99 (she brought the price tag with her). She calls the manager to apply the change. Manager is adamant that the price is 64.99. He goes to “check” and comes back with a newly printed label. The employee is shocked because that’s not what she saw and is not the price. She sticks up for me and he waves her off with contempt. If you made a mistake, own up to it. I would have gladly paid 64.99 if it was a mistake and explained as such. Not using deception and stubbornness. He even implied I (customers) may have changed the price on the shelf. Treat your employees and customers better. Adonis in 1 min away! Read more
I loooove their herb selection. I was also excited to find an interesting selection of gluten-free items that I had never seen before!
I love going to this place. Their butcher shop always has fresh meat and they prepare it however u like. Lots of other arabic food as well (olives and cheese) and groceries. I noticed their prices are actually cheaper than other arabic stores in the area! Highly recommend it.
Mid East is by far the most consistent Arab food store in the Ottawa area. You can always count on Khaltou Mado & Ali the manager to assist you with any product requests. Customer service is on point, store is well kept and there are public washrooms available. Recently, I went on a ... mission to find 2 specific seeds that are only sold here.
