I've been here before and have never had any issues with Wasabi. The food is fresh and really well presented. I have had both the à la carte and pre-determined menu items without a hitch. This time, the service was a little less desirable. We constantly had to ask for refills ... of our water and the waitress only came by once to ask how we were doing the whole time we were there. Not that it was busy, we were one of only a handful of customers at the time. The Su-sa-ma (sushi, sashimi, maki) was really tasty. I would have like to have seen a larger variety of fish on it, they seemed to repeat the same fish for the sashimi as they had for the maki. Compared to my last visit, quite a few items disappeared from the menu. More like the "usual" sushi place / Japanese restaurant. As for most Japanese restaurant in Canada, we are not in the realm of real authentic Japanese food. This being said, the food is good, and the service okay ... as I think they were not expecting a group of 12 on a Wednesday night. Everyone enjoyed the food. Excelent service, food and place. Totally recommended. I tried one of their bento boxes for lunch and it was amazing. The food and taste were very good, and it was also very fun to eat from the bento-box-like dish it was served in.

A nice place in by-ward area. Liked the environment. I ordered chowder, was expecting , New England type. But had a pleasant surprise that it was Japanese style. Something new for me. Will come back for a full meal soon.
