Fantastic sushi in Orleans. One of the best Sushi in Ottawa. My only complaint is that it's so good that there is a consistently long wait for an order. I recommend ordering at lunch time for dinner if you want to get your order in time. I wish they had a ... website to order from, but then they'd also potentially be inundated with orders that they can't fulfill. Just shows how much people love their food. Read more
Recently moved to Ottawa from Vancouver and I’m so glad to have found this joint. This place satisfies my sushi needs and dare I say that the quality of their ingredients were better than your average joint in Vancouver. I was really impressed with how flavorful the Ebi sushi was ... as it’s usually the one I’m least excited to eat. The quality of fish was fresh and the taste and consistency was good. The wasabi actually stung without needing to put much. This place gets busy with good reason. Take out only, better to call hours if not days in advance to secure your order. Now I wish they would open a similar joint in Gloucester or Findlay Creek! Read more
We ordered a big sushi platter that had a bunch of premium rolls and sashimi. Hello Sushiman is one of the best sushi places in Ottawa. The sushi and sashimi were good, and we ordered so much that we couldn’t finish it. I had to pack it up and eat ... it the next day, and even then, the sushi kept well. When ordering, I would call a couple of hours beforehand because they are always super busy. There isn’t really any seating inside so you’ll have to order for take-out. Overall, I would definitely recommend ordering sushi from here. Read more
Fresh and tasty sushi. I ordered the Sushi Lunch A for takeout and it was ready on time and the sushi was super fresh, filling, varied, and tasty. You can tell there's a lot of care put into their craft.Their sushi is a huge step up and above from what ... you can get from your generic Ottawa AYCE sushi restaurants (even the higher end ones) and grocery store sushi. I've had their large sushi platters in the past, and those too are excellent. Read more
I found the rolls too sweet for my preferences, the salmon on the dynamite roll looked a little wet and unappetizing, and there was a surprisingly strong fish smell to our platter (surprising because our rolls were mostly vegetarian / crab / tempura shrimp, which generally just smell like ocean). ... We all felt a little off after finishing, unfortunately. This seems to be a family-run place and I wish them a lot of success! I hope some of the kinks can be sorted out. I was surprised by my experience considering the strong recommendations for this place, but it’s possible it was an off day or a disconnect between the recommendations and my tastes 🤷(4 stars because I want to share my honest review but don’t wish to harm this business’s rating) Read more
