Colonnade Pizza - Ottawa, Ontario

An Ottawa staple: been around a long time, great pizza and very reasonably priced bottles of wine. Enjoy a combination with onion and olives, and bottle of Chianti. Attentive and accommodating service.

Tried this place at the reco of my colleagues who touted it as the best pizza in Ottawa. I must say they are right. The pizza may not really look like much but the flavors are amazing and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Perfect cheese to dough ... and topping ratio. honestly really surprised that the reviews are so high. we ordered a large Mediterranean and some garlic dips, and it was all really underwhelming. it wasn’t that hot and the pizza lacked flavour. the artichokes on the pizza were super hard and there wasn’t enough sauce for the amount of ... cheese and flavourless toppings. we were pretty disappointed. when we went to pick it up, we walked in through the doors where you would be seated to sit to dine in. no one approached us for a few minutes and we realized ourselves that we had to go through a separate set of doors for pick up orders. once we entered through the right set of doors, it still took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. while waiting to pay, we picked up a paper menu and saw that the same pizza we ordered online for $38 was $28 in store. we inquired about this and the server smugly said that in store and online prices are different with no explanation. her customer service was terrible, unfriendly, and rude. after eating the pizza and not being happy with it, we called to let them know and to also ask, again, why the price difference was so big. the person on the phone said that next time we should just call to place our order because the price online is higher due to credit card fees. i i found it pretty appalling that it was to be assumed on our end that we “should have just called.” that isn’t made clear anywhere on the website. if you have to offset your credit card fees onto your customers, that’s not a good look. and, if you have a website, it should be useful and user friendly—it was neither. from customer service to taste, it was terrible. the server was rude and unhelpful and the pizza was just not that good, and especially for the price we paid, it was absolutely not worth it. it’s pretty clear the restaurant caters to their regulars that dine in. it was unwelcoming for us as new customers and the food was very subpar for the price. Hands down the best thick crust pizza I've had in Ottawa - the crispy cheese on top is unbeatable 👍🍕 I generally prefer thin crust pizza, but this is an exception. It's best to order with minimal toppings due to the amount of cheese on top and the thickness. The hot wings ... were good quality and meaty. It's a family friendly place so mostly people dining there looked like they were regulars. The service was okayish considering how busy the place was. The vibe was not that spectacular either. We ordered a medium vegetarian pizza and a veg. Lasagna which came with a side of salad. Although ... the food was delicious which makes me say i might go back there. Read more
