Caffé Mio - Ottawa, Ontario

We are new to Ottawa and we visited cafe mio. The first time in Canada history horned and raised we had the manager ask us why we tipped below 15% ? And made his waitress ask us why .. that was very intimidating and not professional. You need to increase ... their wages if you live in a city with high taxes. Was ok? The restaurant is very small so it can feel very chaotic in there. The serve forgot our app, the place was pretty busy so I guess it’s whatever? We got the spaghetti and meatball, the sauce was super watery and bland, and the meatball had no density to ... it if that makes sense. Prob wouldn’t go back it’s not my cup of tea :/ Read more

I truly enjoyed the food at cafe mio. I ordered a gluten free vegetarian pasta and the plate was filled with high quality fresh veggies which was very impressive. I really enjoyed their approach at pasta as they do not add any heavy sauces or spices , they just stick ... to the basics and make it as healthy as possible. Also our waiter was delightful. She helped us out with the menu and was able to understand/accommodate my allergy. We were so full we did not get a chance to try the coffee but I will return at some point to do that! Read more

Brunch there is good with big portions. Went back there for dinner. Ordered the beet salad, the steak, the deep fried artichoke. Everything was great and it came really fast. Service was amazing and overall deserves 5 stars.

My sister and her friends brought me to a restaurant I have been wanting to try for some time. Caffe Mio is a beautiful family owned and operated Italian bistro, open for over 20 years. They are located on West Wellington. The ambiance is very romantic for ... the perfect date night and intimate for a dinner/drinks with friends. The staff were amazing, attentive and made recommendations to help us navigate the wine menu. The food we ordered looked amazing and tasted delicious, we got some bruschetta to share, I got their beet salad and shared some with my sister (because I love her) and each of us got a different main, I got the Gnocchi and added chicken, and the ladies got Gnocchi, Linguine Con Funghi and the Chicken Parmigiana with cream sauce. I am in love with the soft fluffy gnocchi! It was one of the best I have ever tasted, and my beet salad was delicious, I never thought I would find another beet salad to replace the one we lost at Nordik Spa, and that crispy pancetta was to die for, I would have ordered another!
