OMG! Best Indian food I had in years. Not too hot but sooo tasty. There was great variety. I didn't feel hustled to order. The staff/owners were friendly. Did I say the food was excellent!! Chicken curry was very tasty and made exactly as per my taste. The pieces were quite meaty and the gravy was awesome. Lamb Rogan Josh was good too. Definitely recommend the chicken Madras curry for people who like to have spicy curries. Rice was quite fragrant and tasty. The staff ... was extremely polite and very very friendly. Not bad... Nothing great, but above average for Ottawa. Took a long time to get the order, but came out freshly made. So the wait was worth it.

This restaurant has been part of the Bytown experience for many years. It is a pricey for the quality of the food and the interior is rundown but the service is good. Just what you need before an evening at the movies.

Very well kept and nicely laid out restaurant. Broken down into nooks that accommodates groups and single table dining while keeping the noise level down. Service was very polite and attentive and paced how I like... I hate being rushed. The real treasure of the Sitar is the masterfully prepared ... meals. I ordered of the menu and a slight deviation from the menu. Let me tell, wow. It was some of most tasty food I've had in a while. Great place for customer. Read more
