Don't judge a book by it's cover! Delicious food, good portions, and nice people. We had the lamb curry, beef vindaloo, and butter chicken, all in spicy. Incredible flavours and friendly service. Our food was freshly made and tasted fantastic. The owners are lovely, friendly and welcoming. We shared a beef samosa, butter chicken and beef vindaloo and I would recommend all. If you’re looking for quality, tasty home style Indian dishes, you need to give this a try.

Bagan has the best Butter Chicken in Ottawa undoubtedly! The taste is so mouthwatering that you definitely got to visit them a second time and eventually make them your regular! To mention further, their BBQ wings is also very delicious when you're craving for your evening snack! And I also ... love their special tea made with cloves and cardamom! Customer service provided is exceptional and they will go the extra mile to keep you happy especially through customized meals as requested. Found this place in a tucked away corner in the mall - a true hole in the wall establishment that did not disappoint. The chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken were incredibly flavoured. The butter chicken especially was such a unique take on the classic, both dishes felt home made and ... were made super fresh. The owners are very nice and will customize a meal to your liking with no issue. Highly recommend trying it fresh and eating it right there in the mall. Took it to go and ate it a couple hours later, and it still tasted fantastic. So can imagine eating it fresh would be delightful. Owners kind and nice. Ordered chicken tikka masala (was hoping for a chicken Tikka actually but that was my fault for not clarifying or checking), and the side order options to this dish are either naan or rice. I also ordered a vegetable samosa. So presentation was interesting, I like ... the fact they included salad but if u look at my images the salad proportions are so tiny they just make the dish feel cheap. The proportions feel really small tbh in comparison to other Indian restaurants in the GTA. It feels really tiny, especially when the 2 naans are tiny and feel like they just got some from Dollarama. the food was nicely hot tho. Idk the plate looked really small to me tbh but the food was alright, it was good. Although I'm used to Indian food and would have appreciated more spice but I understand that the audience here doesn't like much spice. The food did fill me up but the price tag being nearly I believe 15 dollars for the dish should mean the proportions are much larger like in other Indians stores. I feel like I overspent and would have rather got the shawarma for about half the price next door. But I also ordered a vegetable samosa which was really crispy and nice. The presentation of the samosa was really good. And I think the samosas are really big and the chutney (sauce) is not bad either. Next time I would just go for samosas here but if you are reading this review would probably suggest going for rice instead of naan but I would avoid dishes here because shawarma or subway seems much better value. Also my total price that I paid for the dish and samosa was almost 18 bucks ..... Definitely overpriced and low quantity. But owner was nice and smiling while she served me. I would have also appreciated getting the recipe with each item I ordered so I can see how much individual prices were instead of getting receipt for just total bill without itemized costs. Read more
