Pinelopi’s Greek Kitchen - Ottawa, Ontario

It was 30 minutes prior to closing, and they were able to accommodate us, and we had a great service. We have been visiting Penelopi after many years, and the quality of the food and the service remain the same. Will I come back? FOR SURE

Definitely one of the best Greek food restaurant in Ottawa. Great variety menu makes you want to go back to try more items. The food was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent and everyone was happy and welcoming.

As always, I'll start with the service. It was easy to make a reservation and it was worth doing since it filled up around 6pm. We were welcomed with smiles and found the restaurant to have great ambiance. It's a cozy setting.... about 16 tables for 4 people. The mocktail ... to start was delicious. We shared the dolmades and greek salad as a starter. Both were very good. Suggestions and more info about the mains was required but we found the advice was spot on. Off the beaten path. This delightful little place was amazing and well worth the little trek to get to it. Food was perfect! The Calamari wasn’t over cooked. Lovely flavour in the scallop and shrimp dish; even the gnocchi was good (I will point out I have a a few times ... and didn’t like it) Service was warm and welcoming even when we were making the reservation. Our server took good care of us and made sure we were taken care of. Atmosphere. It had the Mom & Pop feel. Every thing had its place and wasn’t over filled. It was elegant! Very nice ambiance at this restaurant!!! The lamb was excellent....we had both the lamb chops and lamb shank. Calamari was also perfect...perfectly battered!! Reason for only 4 stars is the Ravioli was lacking in flavour and not cooked long enough...the corners were still a bit hard and the veggies that ... came with the lamb chops were also under cooked.
