Von’s Bistro is a gem in Ottawa! I’ve come here several times for dinner with friends and family, and each visit has been excellent. The menu is on the smaller side, but always very tasty, and they have a lovely wine selection. The atmosphere at Von’s strikes the perfect balance ... between cozy and elegant. Great food, great food. The menu is inspired and creative and to top it off I've literally never had a bad meal here. One of the hidden gem of Ottawa restaurant scene.

Excellent all around. Lovely atmosphere and the food is of excellent quality for an excellent price. Portion size was perfect, even had to take home leftovers, and the flavours clearly indicated that the chef cares deeply about providing a good end result. This place is everything you're looking for.

I love being at Von’s! The atmosphere is classy, calm and cozy, just people talking to each other. There is seating at the tables or bars up and downstairs. “Flippers” is upstairs and the seafood is available there, plus the regular menu. We came here for Flippers initially and found out Flippers is closed for renovations. We don't know when it might reopen but the kitchen is the same. So we stayed for dinner. I had the Thai Curry Shrimp dish but that was not Thai curry. It was more like Thai sweet ... chilli. It's mildly spicy. Food quality was not bad otherwise. It is a fairly small restaurant so tables are quite close to one another. We had the pecan pie for dessert. It does not come with ice cream but it was still good. Read more
