Gingerbread Man - Ottawa, Ontario

This is one of the coolest stores I have visited in the Ottawa region. The gingerbread decorations are true works of art, while their ice cream shop has become a compulsory stop for my children whenever we visit Manotick. We have even been known to buy the occasional cookies during ... our visits. What a treasure this place is. The staff is wonderful and the artful gingerbread houses are incredible. Loved the butter tarts, gingerbread cookies and, especially the butter tart pie with bits of gingerbread and other goodies. Definitely worth the drive.

The moment you walk in, you are greeted with the delicious aroma of gingerbread. There is something for everyone: amazingly large and intricate gingerbread structures for viewing, a variety of delicious cookies for tasting, and even gingerbread houses made for pets!

I drove 40 minutes to the Manotick Gingerbreadman store to buy some gingerbread, but found out that the store was closed. There is a sign outside the store indicating that the store will reopen in Feb 2021. Googlemaps saýs the store was open today. I was disappointed because I ... wanted to eat some good gingerbread and to smell the freshly baked goods inside. I am sure my rating will go up once I can actually go inside and try some of their food but for now its a 1 sorry. Update I was in the neighborhood and decided to go to the store once again. I was happy that I did. The cute store is beautiful inside. There is so many well decorated gingerbread products all over the place. The smell was aromatic and drove me to crave more gingerbread that I have had for years. Their gingerbread was great. I will come back and I think you will like coming here too. What a local gem! This boutique shop has a great variety of semi and arguably sinful baked goods (pies, cookies, buttertarts, loafs) and customized and creative gingerbread cookies. Their ice cream is Kawartha Dairy- THE BEST Ontario and possibly global ice cream (imyo); the Gingerbreadman carries an impressive selection. Pricing ... and serving sizes are very good. Put all of this together with the super-friendly owners, free parking, and a cottage-like outdoor sitting-area in a beautiful community, and you’ll have a memorable, relaxing and yummy experience.
