This used to be a favourite spot for affordable and somewhat decent Indian food. While it is still relatively affordable, they no longer seem to have non-spicy options. Basic choices are now way too spicy. There is also an issue that they continually mess up my order. Almost ... every time I say I was 'x' but no 'y' and 9 times out of 10 I get 'y'. Brampton Indian Cuisine Restaurant has really elevated their place and taste and I must say, it was a truly unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality by the aunty with a sweet smile. Their newly renovated decor of the restaurant is elegant and ... inviting, creating a wonderful ambiance for a meal. We were truly impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the skillful use of spices in every dish we ordered. I highly recommend trying the Amritsar kulcha, soft phulka, garlic naan, dal tarka and Dabha chicken - they were absolute standouts and some of the best I've ever had in Ottawa! To top it all off, the mango lassi was the perfect refreshing drink to complement the rich flavors of the meal. It has been an amazing experience always with them. Very kind and humble staff. And the food along with games is a very good initiative wherein people actually don't use their phones much and instead spend quality time with eachother while having food. This was the first time trying this restaurant and all I can say is YUM!! I was going to try the Thali but the woman said it only included butter chicken and goat curry and she could not make it with any of the other non-curry dishes. I'm not a ... fan of goat so I just opted for the rice with butter chicken dish and naan. The naan was one of the best I've ever had. It was freshly made to order and was so fluffy - I love the thicker parts. The butter chicken while not being the best i've every had it was def in the top 5. It's tomato-ee and creamy - exactly how butter chicken should be. The spices weren't overpowering but the flavour was certainly there. It was all-in-all simply delicious. I will return again and again and again. Just noting that parking is a bit of a pain with limited spots available and the curb only being lower in a spot - if a car is parked in front of the lower curbed area you will have to drive over a large curb to get back onto the road.
