Slap your mama good! Phenomenal jerk chicken - white and dark meat. So far, the closest to authentic Caribbean out of all other places I’ve had in Ottawa. Service is good and we called over the phone. I would suggest getting the chicken by 1/2 pound or one pound (or ... more if you need), the price is worth it. The best Caribbean food in Ottawa! Love their curry goat, oxtail & curry chicken! Homemade Jamaican patty’s are a must to try, very authentic food. Highly recommend!

A nice clean spot in a strip mall, tried the curry goat and the red snapper (since I mean, its in the name). Red snapper had been stored in the fridge and when it was reheated, wasnt crunchy, skin was soggy. The pickled onions were good. The curry goat dish ... had good taste, but unfortunately, the cut of the goat was cut so small that there was alot of bone slivers in the sauce (see bone slivers on plate). It was tough to have a full bite without having to comb through to insure no bones were going to be swallowed, but the sauce was good. Bones were cut so small, there was any marrow to get to either. The plantains were not cooked with much care as you can see from the plate. Not sure if I got the bottom of the pot or it was the end of the day, but was really looking forward to a nice fulfilling meal and instead got a meal that had to be cautiously eaten. Read more

I have been a patron of this fine restaurant 4 over a decade. I am always impressed and truly satisfied with the freshness of the food. The portions are big and always a great price. Over the past 10 years I am always enjoying the great flavors of my favorite ... Caribbean dishes. The customer service is fantastic and I am always greeted with a big smile. I have referred many people who has thanked me immensely as they have enjoyed the Fantastic flavors of tropical gardens dishes and they too have made fishy's their go to restaurant for fine ,delicious Caribbean food. Good Caribbean food. Jerk chicken is well seasoned, delicious plantain and rice and beans. Chicken has a nice kick to it and is tender and juicy. So far, one of the better spots I've found in Ottawa. Still looking for a spot that can rival ones in Toronto, but this hits ... the spot. Only downside, I ordered my meal to go, but realized once I got home they forgot the veggies.
