Dunn’s Famous Deli - Ottawa, Ontario

Smoke meat will not disappoint here. Tonight we had the three course meal. Soup or salad, choice of meal and dessert. My spouse and I had the smoke meat lasagna this time. Very good. The garlic bread was more of a bruschetta bread (full of air bubble) it was not what we wanted, we ... would have prefferred a dinner roll, but it was still good. It’s been a while since I last visited Dunn’s. So stopping here for a late lunch / early supper. While the boy went large (steak frites), I settled (not really) for the smoked meat poutine. Good experience. Prices for steak are high for the type of restaurant it is. Decor is basically the same as it was when it was the Firkin & Knight. Presently the bartender is also the sandwich maker as he prepares the food behind the bar. Although he looks to be a ... hygienic person he prepares the food without sanitary gloves. Also there are many flat screen TVs about showing sports but they are not at the proper screen size (16"x9") so the image is streched making the play difficult to watch. Read more

Love their spaghetti! Everything I tried here both at Bank St and Merivale Rd were very delicious and big portion with reasonable price. Plus friendly service. So this is one of our fav restaurant!

Despite some of the bad reviews a few months ago, we had no problems here. Our dinner came about 5 minutes after ordering and was hot and fresh. Our fries were much fresher than I was expecting too.
