CreekSide Bar & Grill - Ottawa, Ontario

My girlfriend had the breakfast poutine, fries were soggy and overall the taste was very poor. She’s a bit of a picky eater but I tried it and had to agree it was not very appetizing, normally I’d just switch and eat hers, however even I couldn’t choke this thing ... down. We informed our waitress who was frankly impolite about it, and was acting as if it was a chore to serve us. We ordered something else. We go here often enough (mainly for breakfast during the week) to know that the CreekSide Bar & Grill is reasonably priced and a great place to eat. With so many menu options, you can't really go wrong. We've also had their pizza for take-out and it's delicious! I ... appreciate that they offer several menu items that you can substitute with gluten-friendly options (e.g. GF bread for sandwiches and toast and a tasty GF pizza crust). Nice cozy place for breakfast, and not too far out from the city. There was plenty of parking when we arrived around 0945 on a Sunday. The hostess seated us right away and our waitress was prompt with getting us coffee. For options are rather impressive with a wide selection ... of breakfast options. We had the Creekside favourite; two pancakes, two eggs and bacon. Pancakes were very good but if you opt for real Maple syrup there is an upcharge of $1.75. As well as, the Creekside Special; two eggs any style with a choice of bacon, ham or sausage. Both were very good and came with toaster & jam. We went on Sunday afternoon and it was surprisingly quite busy. We had the brunch menu. The special had no meat alternatives and the fruits on the plate were so small. Potatoes were really good. There’s no point in adding the fruit if it’s that small. The crepe was thicker ... than we have had at other spots. Service was poor at best. Read more

I had the most delightful experience. The workers are very warm and welcoming which creates an enjoyable atmosphere! Their breakfast options are delicious and affordable! The portions are not only generous but also satisfying. They even offer their homemade traditional Ashta cream, a Lebanese clotted cream which was paired ... perfectly with their mouthwatering French toast and fresh fruit!
