Ate on the outdoor covered patio. Nice breeze on a hot day. Excellent drink selections. Cold beer on tap. Very extensive menu. gluten free and vegan choices. The chicken bacon wrap was excellent. Friendly efficient staff. Well Done!

I’ve eaten here several times and unfortunately the food quality really is declining. The mushroom tartar was kind of gross actually. Cold mushroom with cold grated cheese, and really no flavor. The Mac’n Cheese similarly lacked any real flavor and was served with a lacklustre handful of greens. The Spicey ... Ceaser drink was the highlight of the meal. I dined on a Monday night, with a reservation, and it was really busy. Glad we had a reso. But service was painfully slow. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend. If you’re a fan of mushrooms, try Brassica! They have the best mushrooms on toast I’ve ever tasted. Read more

It was our first time eating here as we are from out of town. We were hungry and decided to drive down Manotick Main Street and see if there were any restaurants. We were lucky and stumbled upon this lovely bistro. We were seated promptly. We ordered the filet and ... steak and frites. Both plates were great. Especially the filet. Visited this restaurant for the first time with a friend for lunch. Great service! I ordered the fish and fries and was thoroughly impressed. Freshly battered, not frozen, and 2 large pieces of fish!! I was only able to eat one, and I brought the other piece home! Thanks for ... the great first impression! We chose to celebrate our anniversary at Black Dog Bistro and had a fantastic experience. Service was excellent, food was delicious and despite being busy we felt welcomed and well cared for. Well done team!
