The Vanitea Room - Ottawa, Ontario

So, I recently went to a drag show that VANITEA was hosting for dinner. To be honest, the $75/head deal was supposed to be pretty cool ($50 for dinner and $25 for the show), but it felt anything but. There were some good jokes and decent performances in the drag show, ... but the evening had some minor enjoyment; however, it left me with several complaints. First, dinner was fixed and scant. Some bread and chicken wings are not enough for the price paid. Secondly, the food's quality was not very good, either. Another significant issue was service. There was only one server on duty for the whole event, so it was unbearably slow and relatively inefficient for the number of guests. However, I do want to make the point that it was not the fault of our server – she was inundated with guests. The restaurant should have been staffed more adequately to handle the crowd. Overall, I thought it was overpriced and overrated. The drag could have been a good night, but the food is shocking in quality, and slow service means you can barely eat a thing. Super cute spot definitely recommend checking out!! Service was incredible, but the scones and breakfast and even tea wawas average and the place is tight, but overall would definitely recommend a visit. Also kindla pricey for the portion!

The aesthetic is BEAUTIFUL at this Afternoon Tea. It was SO pretty that taking photos was easy. The best bites were the 3 sweets; all three were yummy! The savories were all pastry which got boring and the scones were served with ONLY jam, no clotted cream. We asked for ... butter though. Tea options were the Sloane brand. This venue and the bird cage tea tiers were a nice unique vibe! Service was good here. We were required to pre-pay for Afternoon Tea online which some guests may not like. Read more

Cute little restaurant in Centretown. It had a great vibe and the menu is diverse yet also limited. The tea selection is lovely and there are so many to choose from. It’s always a pleasure coming here and the staff are always so attentive and welcoming. Will definitely continue to ... come by and recommend friends and family to visit. Adorable and small space that has great ambiance and is beautifully decorated; perfect for birthday brunches or small events 💕 The stir fry was tasty, and the scones were delicious. Our server was very nice and explained the menu quite thoroughly. Will be back to enjoy their bottomless mimosas!
