The red velvet cupcake was very good - there's a lot of icing, and it wasn't too sweet!

The service is absolute joke. No matter when you go or who will be behind the counter, everybody will give you attitude no matter what. Extremely overpriced. Their cupcakes are good, but not worth it anymore. I have been buying them for years and the service has ALWAYS ... been terrible. I have overlooked it because we liked them, but not after today. I order and paid 80+ for 2 dozens of the mini (extra tiny) cupcakes (plus 5 big ones) and when I question the size I got nothing but bad attitude and rude answers. I was told to write to head office (i did) because thats how the things were. I was also told that every mini(tiny) cupcake is A QUARTER of a big one, yet you still pay HALF PRICE of a big one.... something doesn't quite add here. And before you think they take the mini(tiniest) cupcake by cupcake to do the frosting, they do not, its clearly done with pipping bag. I am overwhelmed and disappointed. I'm not a big cupcake person but these were good and I enjoyed it. It's not too sweet either which I appreciated. They have many exciting flavours to choose from and the flavours are rotating so I hear.

We got a dozen cupcakes of various flavours and we were more then pleased with how light and delicious they were!! The strawberry and raspberry frosting were clearly fresh and incorporated actual fruit in them! We even went around shopping for a few hours and when we got home they ... were still delicious. Editing in response to owners response: The images I posted below and that you have now replied to are from two years ago. To give an accurate response to my comments please read my review in its entirety. You’ll notice I have initially reviewed your shop two years ago and then ... again in 2022. I assure you, the cupcakes I have been receiving of late do not resemble the photos of the cupcakes I have posted below and are dry and definitely not fresh. I am a baker and have successfully run my own bakery in the US and can distinguish between the “flakes on the icing” and a dry crumbling cupcake. —————————————————————————— Edit-December 24,2022 I feel my initial review below from two years ago is no longer relevant today. I remain a loyal customer of the cupcake lounge but my last 7 orders have been terrible. Every single time I order the chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting it’s been dry to the extent that the frosting isn’t smooth but rather flakes and crumbles. Gone are the days where fresh cupcakes are served. They also no longer taste as good as they used too. —————————————————————————— Initial review 2020- We’ve tried numerous items on their menu and it’s all delicious. Our favorite is the chocolate chocolate cupcakes. They also have really nice DIY kits that make a really good activity for kids on a weekend.
