This dessert place is absolutely amazing. I've visited the Cacao 70 branch in Halifax, but this particular location is truly the best spot to indulge in the original cacao flavor.
Food: 2.5 Stars Service: 3 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Value: 2.5 Stars Overall: 2.8 Stars I've been a regular at the Cacao 70 location in the Distillery District and it’s sad to see it close down permanently. This eatery has always been a go-to when the chocolate cravings kick in, offering a delightful array of ... sweet treats that can satisfy any sweet tooth. The atmosphere is particularly welcoming, perfectly suited for casual outings with friends and family or a laid-back date night. Despite its charms, I find the pricing at Cacao 70 on the higher side, especially when considering the basic nature of the menu items like chocolate dips, fruits, and waffles—something that’s relatively simple to prepare at home. This aspect often makes me question the overall value for money. On a positive note, the menu isn’t just limited to sweets; there are savory options available too, which diversifies what you can choose from. This variety is a plus, allowing for a broader dining experience beyond just dessert. In offering constructive feedback, I would suggest that Cacao 70 could enhance its appeal by introducing more unique and creative dishes that are not easily replicated at home. This could help justify the higher prices while offering customers something special that they can’t get elsewhere. Overall, while the environment is inviting and the food generally good, a reassessment of pricing could potentially make Cacao 70 more accessible and appealing, ensuring patrons feel their expenditure is worthwhile. kellychan360 Read more
We paid 90 dollars for two meals and 2 smoothies, the food was very disappointing, lacked flavour and excitement, i got the mediterranean frittata, and it was gross. the mix of the veggies was not good at all and they were not generous with their cheese, the smoothies were good ... and fresh. the service was nice but the food was very disappointing considering the prices for this place/ atmosphere. it seems like the owner spent all his time working on the decor but not the food itself, also when we asked for salt and ketchup, they gave us the small packets, and i feel like a breakfast/ brunch place should have those on every table. the only good thing about this place were the servers. All in all the best place in Ottawa to have desserts. Super yummy, super nice, super service, and above all super clean. The manager is a very considerate person. He is so humble and would address any concern at once. For him, the customer is always right and always leaves ... happy. Everything on the menu is great and yummy. Prices are great based on the service you are getting there. Highly recommend it specially if your girl is mad at you, she is totally forgiving you if you take her to such a magical place. Take your boss he/ she will give you a raise 😂😂😍 Read more
Service is everything and the service was horrible. 3 tables only and 55 minutes for food to get to table. Service ruined whatever quality the food was. The strawberry salad and the pineapple salad took the most time. Strange! I had the Mediterranean fritata and crepes for dessert. I finished ... my fritata as you can. It was good. But as I said the delays killed the experience. Read more
