I did my engineering degree here - Class of 2021. It was rough. The labs did not make sense, and most of the professors were more focused on their research than on teaching. Dr. Cruikshank was the only good professor. I didnt like like Glenn Mcrae shoved Nuclear down our throats and demonized ... the oil and gas sector. Professors should not be pushing down their political beliefs. I'm still scarred by Dr. Yara's exams. He didn't teach or do any examples, just rambled all day, and his exam questions were tougher than those in the textbook. Like this dude should not be teaching. He may have a knack for research but teaching is not it. So many people failed that the school let everyone redo their exams in 2018. It ruined my mental health and made me lose my sparkle. Despite all this, I wasn't prepared for the real world at all. I wasn't taught how to design a car, a compressor, or a pump. The university was nice to let us COVID grads redo our graduation in 2022. However, there's a conspiracy theory that professors fail students on purpose so they can redo courses multiple times and keep paying money. The only thing I liked was that you didn't need English to get into the engineering program. I think the school did well in this regard because engineers don't need to ace Shakespeare. In fact, I got an A+ in CCDP, and it was the most useful course since I write engineering documents and policies all day now. Shout out to Kim Davis and Ricardo Tabone. I would not come back, and I genuinely don't want my children to come here. I am not a proud alumni. Read more
