The Rowan - Ottawa, Ontario

My friends and I went for our monthly brunch. We have never been in this restaurant before but after going I told my partner that I’d love to go back with him! When we arrived, we were informed our table wasn’t ready yet as the people before us were billing out ... and had to wait ten minutes to be sat, which was not a problem at all but for this very, very minor inconvenience the waitress informed us that they would take care of our first round of drinks! Not necessary but a great sign of good customer service. Our waitress was very friendly, and made conversation and good food suggestions. She checked in frequently despite how busy it was which was super appreciated. Our food was wonderful. It looked and tasted delicious. The portion sizes were awesome for the price as well. One of my friends got some kind of toast and the waitress told us it was going to be big but it was like a third of a loaf of bread! Hoping to visit again soon. Service was a tad slow but was expected for when I ate on Sunday, otherwise attentive and kind. Very nice open faced chicken sandwich! I do wished the honey and mayo shined through a little more. Ambience was cute and cozy

Hands down the best place to get brunch in the glebe! The service was wonderful, our server was very attentive and gave us detailed descriptions of the menu items was appreciated. Lots of vegetarian options. I got the avocado tartrine and scrambled eggs, and my friend got to falafel and ... roasted eggplant sandwich - so good! We had Saturday dinner at The Rowan and everything was very nice. The food was tasty, service was friendly and attentive (our water glasses were never empty). My table ordered the Chicken Supreme, Fresh Malfadine and the Bacon Cheeseburger, plus a couple of apps: Pineapple Pork belly and ... Pimento Stuffed Pepper au gratin. All were enjoyed. The flavors in each dish complimented each other as each bite presented different sense on the palate. The attached photos don't do the meals justice as they were all wonderfully presented. I began with the PB&J cocktail which was very smooth and nicely chilled. I am not sure I tasted the PB&J (it might be my declining taste buds), but it was still pleasant to drink. Had a fantastic time at Rowan restaurant recently. The server was exceptionally friendly and helpful, creating a great vibe. We ordered the breakfast platter and avocado plate, both impressively decorated. The attention to detail in their presentation was noteworthy. The dishes' quality and taste were excellent. While the Saturday breakfast ... menu had a bit limited selection, it still offered intriguing options. Overall, a delightful experience. Read more
