Swiss Chalet - Ottawa, Ontario

Usually enjoy Swiss Chalet but they often mess up orders for delivery. See my photo for example. I ordered a Cesar Salad and got a garden salad with Cesar toppings (croutons not pictured). What am I supposed to do with all this?

I've been a huge fan of Swiss Chalet my whole life, this location here is very nice both inside and out. I always get the same thing, quarter chicken dinner with extra fries and extra gravy. It's so good. While I like eating inside, takeout is my favorite - especially the ... curbside pickup locations. So convenient. Also they switched from plastic containers to cardboard so it's much more environmentally friendly. Prices are also very good. Read more

Tuesday, Nov 2, 2021: I went with my parents to this Swiss Chalet. I had the festive special chicken with stuffing on a piece of bread. Delicious! It came with Lindor truffles (instead of Toblerone like in the old days). I enjoyed a bottomless cup of gingerale. The service was ... quick and friendly - I asked what the spiced french fries are like and he said there are some spices on it. Fair enough. I just got the regular fries. When we were done, I stocked up all the dishes into a neat little pile, to make it easier for him to clear the table. I like to do that for servers. Before the pandemic, I would draw cartoons of the way to hurst and get a selfie with them, but I feel like now it’s better to just get in and out quickly. And they’re all wearing masks now anyways. Update 12/20 Swiss Chalet has always been a staple in my life ever since I was a child so it’s hard not to go back especially during the holiday season. This experience was a much more pleasant experience. We were greeted right when we walked in and with two smiling faces. ... We were seated and from there the experience just kept getting better. We both enjoyed the festive special while our little one enjoyed pizza and fries. Fries are the best in town always especially combined with the chalet sauce. Nothing to really complain about but it's just ok. Waited a bit but once we were seated the waitress was very nice. I've been here previously where the service wasn't as good but it was a little bit better this time around. Had the popcorn shrimp and quarter chicken. A ... little spicy but I'm ok with that and expected it due to the description of the meal. The popcorn shrimp breading seemed a little overcooked but otherwise everything was good. Read more
