The Smoque Shack - Ottawa, Ontario

I'm giving it a definite 5 stars because it's also combined with Beyond the Pale brewery. Always busy, great atmosphere to grab a beer and some good BBQ with a friend, a date or just alone. Service is always on par. This place never disappoints.

Went over wirh my 2 kids. Contrary to some comments they do take order the old fashioned way, when its not too crowded. You can always use your phone too. They have a kids menu. My ribs were amazing. Was craving for some brisket so I did a bit of search and found this BBQ place in town. I tried their brisket sandwich. It was very good. The brisket melts in my mouth. Lots of flavour too. $47 (before tip) for a brisket with cold beans, corn bread, and a ramekin of slaw’ with pickles and a cider (*April ‘23). Staff did their best. It was late (within an hour of kitchen closing) but wow… Meat was decent. Sauce forgettable. Beans were disgustingly cold. Corn bread was lukewarm. Was very good food. Portions way above expectation. I don't get the whole go to the bar to give your order but the tip suggestion starts at 18%.
