Great wings and calamari. Poutine was average. Tuesday they have a deal on wings.
What I ate: Cajun Spiced Chicken Wings The wings were cooked properly, I suppose, but they lacked any true seasoning. The Cajun spice really did nothing for the wings. There was so little flavour it just felt like I was eating a plain wing, despite there being a ridiculous amount of ... seasoning applied to them. Not worth it. Read more
Wednesday night special is awesome -- 50% off the food menu after 5pm. Come check out their rotating taps if you enjoy craft beer! Very friendly staff as well. The Loon is one of my go-to places whenever I am in the Glebe or near Lansdowne.
After a bad experience at another bar at Lansdowne on Friday, me and my girlfriend headed down the street to the Arrow and Loon, and goodness I should have gone here first. We were greeted warmly, and had incredibly friendly staff from the start. The food was good, especially ... for it's price point. I visited the Arrow and Loon for the first time in years with a friend of mine in early April. It was alright. My friend had a poutine, and I had the onion rings to start, and the Mac and Cheese with salad as a main. The issue for me ... was that it was simply alright. There wasn't anything to complain about, really. The service was fine, and quite friendly, although perhaps a bit on the slower side, since we were on the indoor patio. My biggest issue was the food. It was, given the price, not great. It was perfectly fine, but nothing interesting and somewhat bland. As well, the speed of the service wasn't fantastic, and then, given the wait, the food was somewhat disappointing. I can't speak to the bar aspect of dining here, which I assume is somewhat more interesting, but personally, for the price, I believe there are considerably better options with more interesting cuisine.
