Fat Albert’s - Ottawa, Ontario

Today, I purchased a sub for my wife and I. My word, this was a delicious sub. Jake was working tonight (July 4th 2020) and he was prompt, quick and met every single request made for this order. Great job man, delicious, and thank you. It really hit the spot.

Very clean and quite place, obviously because I went in the afternoon. I tired brocolli soup. It was kinda watery. Taste okay. Overall it's a nice place to watch game and having beer. Good customer service

Fat Albert's was my favorite place until last Thursday where i waited half hour for my sub and the wait was not the worst part , i understand they were busy and all new people behind the counter . What angered me is that a couple in front of me ... ordered subs then i ordered mine ,they left while they waited and came back to say they wanted more and those 2 had priority so i waited even longer . Then the best is a customer was upset she din't get the right amount of meat no surprise there since the renos the subs got more expensive and less meat .The Bar guy said to the food staff customer is always right (That's TRUE) the girls behind the counter argued about it with the customer standing there,Then the food side manager or whatever he was came in yelling and swearing in front of myself and other customers how to run each there own side . The bar guy was right all the way and he should work in a better place .I will never eat there again ,i been eating Fat al's for over 30 years, since Carling ave and Mccarthur ave in vanier .I may go back to St Laurent location and see if they still put meat in there subs. Extremely slow service followed by receiving a sub with minimal meat on it and no other toppings. Although the manager preemptively removed 10% from our bill, it was unfortunately not enough to save the experience. A $13 sub should at least be appetizing and there is no way it should ... take 30m to make. Read more

I was pleasantly surprised! There's a little bar/restaurant in back that's quite cozy. The employees were attentive and knowledgeable. The line cook was SUPER polite and friendly. I was a bit nervous at first because their sub selection is nothing like subway but it was really, very tasty. Even better ... than subway. Thanks! I'll be back! Read more
