Please, please, please update this decades old menu. It needs a good vegetarian/vegan option. It desperately needs fresh vegetables and fruit. The service is great and the chef does the best he can with the outdated menu.
Really not what I expected, as a foodie I was disappointed with the food. The fries and fish were way overcooked, the malted vinegar had no taste either… seems like it’s been opened for too long. I’d have to go back and try something else, as I might have to ... revise my rating if some of the other foods are better, but honestly I’d rather not. I’m done. Went for the first time in awhile. It was nice to finally have live music back which is why we have not been for so long. The music was good, but the food was terrible. The 2 club sandwiches we ordered were dry beyond description, the bacon and chicken ... and bread were overdone. It was not like this in the past. I was disappointed that there are no longer any nightly dinner specials (in the past it was something different to try). The menu has not changed in decades and really needs an update. Will we go back? Yes we will be back. It is a nice atmosphere, the live music is great and the beer is cold. Service was good despite it being very very busy later on in the evening. Good old fashion pub. Modern bathroom!!! Very prompt and friendly service. Popular with locals. They have darts, pool table and sometimes love bands. Friday night is $2 off fish & chips. They also have wing night and other specials. A great place to meet family and friends. #localguide
