V’s Cupcakes - Ottawa, Ontario

Was in the new location today at Bayshore mall. My friend and I have been waiting for it to open as we work in the mall. A mall employee walked in eating what looked like a parfait of some sort with fruit and was asked by the owner if her food ... contained nuts or if anywhere in her store contained nuts. The lady politely responded by saying there were tree nuts such as almonds but no peanuts and that there was only yogurt and fruit in her cup. The owner at that point literally asked the lady to leave as her store was a nut free establishment. No where did it state this around the store. While I completely understand the whole "nut free" thing I think she was pretty rude to literally ask her to leave. Is this the kind of personality she is going to show anyone that walks in there with food? You will lose business this way. Put a sign up on the door that asks for no outside food to be brought in due to a peanut free establishment. When I tried to post this on her Facebook website, it was quickly removed and I was literally blocked from the site. I am new to V' cupcakes and was looking forward to going in and buying cupcakes for myself as well as a few Co workers at my place of work. I left when the mall employee left and will not be returning as I thought that was extremely rude and completely unprofessional from a business perspective.Now I can't even discuss this on the Facebook page. I have also seen a few posts on some of their other social media pages of people claiming their posts have disappeared when complining about service. This is shady and childish. I just moved 20 minutes away from Manotick and was so happy when I googled looking for a bakery and found V's Cupcakes! I called late on Friday afternoon asking if there was a possibility of ordering 2 dozen assorted cupcakes for early Saturday morning! The french lady that ... answered (not certain if she is the owner) was so nice and reassuring that it would not be a problem and since they are baked fresh every day ,they would be baked Saturday morning and be ready for pick up at 10:00am Not only were they ready and beautifully packaged,they were absolutely delicious!!! Everyone one of them were different! Absolutely amazing! I bought a cupcake tower and made it a beautiful centre piece for my celebration among family and friends! I am not one to normally write reviews,but could not let this one go unnoticed! V's Cupcakes now have a customer for as long as I live in Kemptville! I found this hidden Gem while in my stay in Ottawa during the football season as my husband played for the Ottawa RedBlacks. The Moment we walked in we fell in love with the cozy atmosphere of the shop & above all with its owner V. The Salte Caramel & ... RedVelvet Cupcakes were to die for & up to this day remain our favourites. we felt in love so much with this place & V, that we made her the Official Johnson Family Baker. :-) She made an AMAZING custom jersey Cake for my Husbands Surprise birthday party which was unbelievable & our Wedding Cake was even beyond. Her delicious treats made our stay in Ottawa so much more enjoyable & will definitely miss her as we embark on our Journey to Montreal, Nonetheless we will make sure to make a stop in anytime the Alouettes play the RedBlacks. :-) If you haven't been to V's Cupcakes you are definitely missing out. I have purchased birthday cakes, cake pops to give out at parties and have taken a great deal of family and friends to this gem of a store in Manotick. Everyone I have given the cake pops too, everyone who has had a piece of cake and and family and ... friends I have taken there rave about the quality of all products and I have found all the staff just great. I wish I could get there more often and I rate this store a 10 out of 5 because 5 says I loved it, 10 says it is perfect. V can bake for me anytime, seriously V, make the Black Forest soon so I can come purchase more perfection. Read more
