Red Apron - Ottawa, Ontario

Our visit to the red apron cost us approximately $80. We purchased 2 (cold) lobster rolls and a take home frozen meal. While everything tasted good, the value of what was included is disappointing. $24 for a cold lobster roll and chips that tasted ok is steep. The $25 dollar frozen ... meal consisted of sauce, 2 chicken thighs and heaping amounts of coconut rice. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice but I do not find that to be good value at all. I can’t recommend this for lunch or take home meals and am disappointed by the value. I can find better warm meals and takeout that I prefer and can freeze myself at the same price nearby. Read more

We tried The Red Apron this morning for our weekly coffee and pastry tour. While their main business seems to be lunchtime meals as well as packaged meal delivery, they also had a good selection of pastries. Both of our pastries were very tasty and we enjoyed the ... coffee. It was a beautiful, sunny day and so we had our coffee and pastries out on the patio area. The patio is reasonably large and sheltered by a large, corrugated roof. The chairs are comfortable and the tables are nice. The patio is also nicely separated from the sidewalk without impeding your view of the surroundings. The Red Apron is situated along Gladstone Avenue and, while Gladstone is a reasonably major road, it didn't really have an impact on the patio area. Very nice store, especially at this new location. There are so many take-home meals to choose from. I picked up a lasagna and a baked good. Prices and portions are okay. Thought we would try something new and treat ourselves by not having to prepare Xmas dinner we purchased Xmas meal for 6 and first I must say it definitely feed 6 and was delicious would defined order again

Healthy options place, not all of food are organic but they do use organic ingredients. Variety of everything and mostly salads which I love. They use a very super fresh vegetables which I saw it and photo it. Love the freshness and the taste of my food. First time but ... not last.
