168 Sushi - Ottawa, Ontario

Beyond disgusting I never go out of my way to put a review but I really had to. My family and I usually go to the one in merivale, the atmosphere is good and the food is decent for the price point. We decided to go to the St. Laurent ... one expecting similar quality, but my god was it disgusting. The plates were dirty. The food was cold and looked old, and we walked from the back door which wqs so messy, there were shoes on the floor, it was disgusting. The sashimi portions were so small, and the nigiri was gross, the tuna on it was dry and it was cut as thin as a sheet of paper. The tom yum tasted like battery acid mixed with cleaning detergent, and if I’m being honest we were so disgusted by the whole atmosphere I had a hard time eating the fries. I couldn’t take a sip of water because of how grossed out I was and I can’t imagine how disgusting and dirty the back of the kitchen must be that they can’t even serve CLEAN PLATES. Beyond disappointed.. made me so grossed out that to a point where I’m no longer stepping into a single 168 including the merivale one.. that’s how gross it was. Read more

Quick service, great tasting food, went for dinner and stayed for 2 hours and left stuffed but not gross. Dinner buffet $37 +tip and drinks.

168 sushi is my favorite sushi’s restaurant by far. Food always good. Service is quick!! Never full house but always steady.

The food is truly terrible and unappetizing. None of the menu items were prepared properly. Our unagi came without bbq eel sauce and when was asked for sauce, they added on this cold, lumpy sauce on top (pictured). The sushi was falling apart, not rolled tightly enough, the salmon was not ... fresh and the avocados used were not remotely ripe at all. The chicken teriyaki was just chicken - no teriyaki. Super dry and unappetizing as seen in the photo. I was appalled at how poorly all the menu items were made. I’m not sure if this is a management issue because it seems like they didn’t properly train their chefs. To top it off, the servers would bring us food and just stand at the end of the table watching us eat which was extremely uncomfortable. -10/10 would never return, waste of money Read more

The food was quickly delivered upon sending our order request. The employees are very prompt. There is a dessert deck in the middle of the restaurant, for people to enjoy in a ‘buffet’ fashion. The bowls, utensils, scoops, etc. for the dessert are also present at deck, which I didn’t like much ... as it’s not monitored or sanitized regularly by the staffs.
