I don’t expect much in the way of service when dining at AYCE sushi places. 1000 Sushi Islands defied expectations in this regard. The staff were very attentive, taking away dishes and refilling drinks with dizzying speed. The food was excellent, served fresh and flavourful. Delighted by the presence of ... red tuna in the dinner menu. Plenty of options for those who aren’t fans of raw fish/rolls. Will definitely be back. We ordered with our eyes instead of our stomachs and wound up with a plate of about 12 surplus pieces of sushi. We were bracing for a sticker shock when asking if we could have a box to take them home. To our surprise we were only charged $10 extra, which seemed more than fair. Thank you for a lovely meal! Very rude waiter (JIT) - must be trained on how to speak to customers - I suggest sending her in training to properly speak with customers and dealing with people, tried to argue while we were eating about something that is not fresh!!!! ... not recommended! The food is poor. I can't recommend any food there. The sushi rice has weird texture and the fillings of the rolls is like leftovers. The sauce for the hot food is salty and has weird sour taste. It feels like I'm going to a fake Japanese restaurant operated by ... non-Japanese. Read more
I've lived next to this restaurant for the past 8 years and never thought about visiting it. Last Tuesday, all the sudden we graved sushi and we were so hungry that we didn't want to drive far away. We were surprised with the tasty sushi there! We arrived at 2pm, just ... one hour before they close for the lunch tome. There was no body except us. The food arrived quickly, the place was clean and the food was a amazingly delicious!! Definitely, I will go there next time for lunch - weekdays!! Read more
