Huge waste of money. The first room I was given smelled like a combination of stinky feet and chemicals, and the windows are the kind you cannot open, so I tried to turn the AC on and it blew air but not cold air, just circulated warm stinky air. After ... about ten minutes of this I felt like it was harder for me to breathe and that I was getting some constriction in my lungs, probably due to whatever chemicals they used to try to fix the foot smell, so I grabbed all my stuff and left. As I exited the room there was a power outage to the whole building - it was a nice day and the hotel next door didn’t lose power so it wasn’t due to weather, it was most likely some isolated problem with the hotel. I presume the AC isn’t able to keep up on a hot day and was asking too much of the power supply, because the lobby was also hot and stuffy. So I went down and tried to change rooms - the staff were nice enough and let me change - but when I went up to my new room, the AC didn’t work there either, and there was a second power outage. I didn’t have any choice at this point so I set my AC to the lowest possible setting (60°F and high fan) and went to bed, waking up at 6am for my flight. When I woke up, the room was so hot that my deodorant had melted. Absolutely disgusting. At an absolute minimum, get your AC fixed. If you don’t want to allow people to open their own windows, you have to have working AC. Anyways, I did a long travel day with no deodorant on and I’m sure the people sitting near me on the plane loved it. This is the kind of experience I would expect to have in a developing country, but the reality is I had a better experience at a $12/night hostel in Nepal, with working AC. For $250 for the night, this was a huge waste of my time. I would have been better off sleeping in my rental car. Read more
