Local Heroes Bells Corners - Ottawa, Ontario

Went in for breakfast today, and probably should have left when the bartender didn’t even look up when we entered the restaurant. We sat ourselves at a booth, and waited 15 minutes before the server saw us. Ordered tea, and received half a cup. Unfortunately, I left without eating after ... waiting an hour for bacon and eggs when the server came to our table for the second time to apologize for the long wait. The server was pleasant enough but, clearly the establishment is very disorganized, in need of proper leadership, and some competent kitchen staff. Read more

My only dislike to this place is no pool table . The place when it was across the street was five stars . Last time I went for breakfast the place was understaffed and I waited over an hour for bacon and eggs haven't been back since for breakfast. At ... night the place has good service and good drink specials but compared to the other locals the place is no good . It's small and ugly but there's plenty of TV's to watch the local game. Went with a hockey team on a Friday morning for a cheap breakfast. The wait was definitely long, but I guess when you walk in with over 30 people that's expected. The eggs were okay, the sausage was edible, and the home fries and hash browns were ... disgusting. The coffee was fine - diner coffee. The staff were all very nice and friendly and attentive. We went for lunch on Sunday. Hardly anyone there and it took almost an hour to get a low quality burger. Another couple were there before us and waited just as long. Staff appeared more interested in talking with a few customers as the bar stools than ... to serve those in booths. Overall low quality food and terrible service. Read more

Will never return to this restaurant. They should be embarrassed with their front of the house staff. Brought a friend that was visiting from out of town there for a couple beers to relax. I might as well mention we were sitting in a booth minding our own business ... while their was about 20 "regulars" at the bar being extremely rowdy and over served. The entire time we were getting attitude from their staff. Honestly never been treated so poorly at a restaurant and I've worked in the industry for 15 years. Food was ok I guess.
