Digby’s Restaurant - Ottawa, Ontario

Shopping at Kanata Shopping Centre we came upon Digby’s Restaurant. Tuesday afternoon was fish and chips all you can eat. Great to have Sousou as our server. We listened to the history of Digby’s and also a lot about Kanata. The fish and chips were wonderfull. Big portions of delicious ... fish. Well worth a visit. Do ask for Sousou. My go to spot in Kanata for seafood. I always order the family pack of 10 pieces of fish (my favourite is Haddock) with large fries and coleslaw. The fish pieces are big and delicious. Something about that coleslaw is very good. The few times I order ahead (3 hours ... in advance), sometimes it's not ready but the wait is no longer than 10 minutes. I highly recommend Digby's! They offer an incredible deal on Tuesdays: unlimited fish and chips for just $16.99. Though I was satisfied with the first serving, the fresh, flaky fish with its perfectly crunchy coating was irresistible. The price-to-quantity ratio is excellent, especially given the great taste. Good value as the prices are very reasonable if you’re in the area and looking to not spend a lot on your meal. I ordered fish n chips which was their specialty (they even have all-you-can-eat options on Tuesdays and Saturdays) but tbh I have learned I am not a fan ... of fish n chips. Their wings were ok. The service was amazing there, and the food was very fresh! We went out for dinner to try mainly their fish & chips, but ended up getting a couple of other items too - some popcorn shrimp (it was alright), their grilled chicken with caesar salad (fell in love with ... this & the slightly charred pieces gave a touch of BBQ!) & also some chicken tenders (not our favorite - seemed a little overdone, but tasted fine). The manager there - Destiny, was very good at being able to accommodate us as we wanted some kind of a spicy sauce or powder that we can sprinkle onto our food. She was able to get us a spice mix & also some hot sauce which enhanced the taste of the fish & chips - we got haddock fish. They give you very large portions - we had leftovers for lunch the next day, & they are very generous overall. We were impressed & will probably be going back soon. What helps is that it is a completely halal restaurant, so no concerns of cross contamination here Al-humdulillah. And the cherry on top was that they had reruns of FRIENDS playing!
