A&W - Ottawa, Ontario

A&W has a long history and was thee place to get a burger. The drive in experience was amazing and is a cherished childhood memory. So it is sad to rate them 3 stars but that was being generous. First red flag no cars in the parking lot So zero people in ... the establishment. The food was bland and very basic. Second flag. The under cooked greasy bacon and faintly toasted toast. Wasn’t there a slice of tomato no sir. The eggs however were properly cooked and were definitely the highlight of this meal. Oddly enough my dine in coffee was served in a to go cup. I keep coming here because I really like A&W food, but this particular restaurant’s service is just consistently terrible. I don’t think I’ve ever had a drive-thru order that wasn’t wrong. Probably due to their staff language barriers, tbh. I keep giving this place second chances, but ... it’s annoying. Read more

Very good service, and very good food. Deep was kind enough to put my “one last order” through, even though I got to the drive through just after they closed. It’s nice that people still have compassion these days.

Service takes forever and when we got our food home it was thrown together terribly. Our onion rings weren’t even worth eating! For the price of things these days it would be nice to put in a little effort when people choose to spend money at your establishment. Booooooooooooo.

These are the best Onion Rings, I have ever eaten. Unlike B.K., there is an actual onion inside, with a crispy/crunchy not greasy batter on the outside. Reminiscent of some of the seafood places on Cape Cod or Newport, RI. The burgers are not typical of a fast food ... place, and actually come with real purple onions, lettuce and tomato. Do try a "Teen" burger or as I did a "Beyond Meat Burger" as it was delicious. When I return to this area, "I WILL be back". Read more
