Diamond House Chinese Restaurant - Oromocto, New Brunswick

The buffet to the table is an incredible deal. The food was terrific, perfect chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce. What a treat to have all you can eat made fresh. The atmosphere and staff are so pleasant, this is a hidden gem.

This was the most disgusting Chinese food we EVER had. If we wanted minute made rice, canned bean sprouts, bottled cherry sauce we would have stayed home. BUT hey the hair in the chicken balls and the supposed to be chicken chow mein are no extra charge, and the ... hairs were really long and we couldn't eat after that. We were trying to get it down, before the hairs, because we spent almost $100 but the hairs were the final straw!! . We couldn't eat our food after that. The spare ribs come in a bath of fat. Totally disgusting!!! The won ton soup...I can't even go there...take a spoon to your flush after your morning pee, it would probably be better....the egg rolls were over done in an oil fryer that tastes like old fish. I was really excited to try Diamond House again after hearing that they had new owners/management. I used to love their Chinese food and was hoping that the new management would bring back the quality I remembered. Unfortunately, my experience was a complete letdown. I ordered takeout, including chicken fried rice, ... chicken balls, and beef and broccoli. To my disappointment, the chicken fried rice was terrible. It lacked any vegetables or eggs and tasted like plain, flavorless rice with a bit of chicken. It was like they used Uncle Ben's 2-minute rice instead of cooking it fresh. The chicken balls were equally bad, overcooked and dry with a chewy exterior. Even the beef and broccoli was not up to par, being undercooked and cold. I was really disappointed with the new owners/management of Diamond House. They should be ashamed of the poor quality of food they are serving to their customers. It's clear that they don't care about their customers' satisfaction, and I would not recommend anyone to waste their time or money on this establishment. I'm not a big fan of Chinese. This restaurant is good but I found it very expensive. The cherry sauce is not good at all, it taste vomit. For the rest, it was good. Quantity is good.

We had our work Christmas party and ordered delivery all the way to Fredericton city centre, so it has a great delivery radius. It's your standard North American Chinese food. Lots of meat, some veggies, deep fried stuff and lots of sauce. There's plenty in each order and enough for leftovers ... which I always look for when ordering this type of food. Nothing that would make it shine above the rest in the area, but still a great option for both solo and group dining. Read more
