Assommoir Notre Dame - Old Montréal, Quebec

It is a small place, but the service and the food are amazing. The waitress came several to the table to find out how we were doing.

The decor is beautiful the food very good - I find $10 for a Sapporo beer to much but apart from that well worth a visit. I was there again love the interior decor of this place . I also found better prices this time round

Was looking for a quick couple drinks in the old port, minutes walk from the Place D'Armes metro. Unique drink choices, who can complain with an "illegal thousand island iced team" with absinthe. So happened that no food was being served, they still gave us plantine crackers and olives to ... munch on. Service staff was friendly and funny. Oysters were good. Présentation was ordinary as was the vinaigrette. The shot of vodka that came with was not watered down which was a plus. Decor was calming. One word at the beginning - this neighbourhood is quite pricey, so do not expect an inexpensive dive if that’s what you are looking for. The meals are quite tasty and there are a couple of options to have meals to share with your family, friends or coworkers. The cocktail list is ... quite large and pretty tasteful. On the downside, the service can be quite long on a busy evening and the cocktails are quite small - a comment that one can make pretty much about any bar in Montreal :-) I suggest that you make a reservation if you want to eat at peak hours.
