La Concession - Old Montréal, Quebec

Sunday in old Montreal with very few places open for a nice sit down meal. La Concession appeared to be a coffee shop with some food items. Kids hungry for lunch, we decided to give it a try. This was the best decision of our trip! The food is phenomenal ... and the prices outstanding! (They could easily charge and deserve prices that are 50% higher.) My husband and I had the Croque Monsieur sandwich, and our daughters had the BLT and ham and cheese sandwiches. All were incredible and left us wanting to make a return trip for another great meal before returning home! On a recent trip to Montreal, I happen to stop by La Concession for lunch. It seemed like a nice place to grab a quick bite. Glad I did, staff was very friendly. As an American, being served in English, in a mostly french community, was a huge plus. The ... food was great, had my first croque monsieur, was hard not to order a couple more to go. I mostly go in the mornings for breakfast. The food is always fresh and the service is impeccable. The coffee served is from Union café also based in Montreal. There is no other place like this in the Old Port of Montreal. They also have meals and drinks to go ... if you are in a rush... with a great selection of beers as well. Read more

Great sandwiches. Everything is made fresh in front of you. The prosciutto sandwich is jam packed and tastes great. The croissants are unbelievable, you've got to try it! Great place and great prices.
