Jac’s Bistro - Oakville, Ontario

This is one of my husband’s and Is go to restaurant as we are usually never disappoint. We went recently for my birthday and I ordered the exact same meal I had when we were there in December. I had ordered the seafood linguine for my main. I December it ... was full of big chunks of lobster. This time I barely had any. I did mention it to our server and her response was that is how it is now. What mind of answer is that? We were also celebrating my birthday. Most fine dining restaurants usually do a desert on the house but that was not the case. Oh I did get a lite candle in the plate though. Amazing service and amazing food and ambience definitely will be back!!

I had a great first experience at Jacs Bistro during lunch with a friend. The atmosphere was cozy, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal, though perhaps a bit intimate for a date night. The Grilled Chicken and Brie I ordered was mouth-watering, with perfectly balanced flavors and ... tender chicken. First time there. Was a comfortable chic atmosphere. Appetizers were great fried and grilled calamari, pear salad and mushroom salad very good. Bread with oil infused with scallions very delicious. Mains were good for all our guests however I had seafood pasta on the menu…it was bland and ... lacked richness and flavor and pasta was a bit over cooked. My husband had seafood pasta special his had way more flavor. Then we had to rush and skip dessert because of the next booking, unfortunately. Seems a bit ridiculous to have a full meal with drinks, appetizers and main meal in a two hour window for 7. We were 10 minutes late but even if you take that into consideration it was a rush. Can’t enjoy the time have dessert and coffee and after dinner drinks. It was a shame really… Edit: just as a footnote I received an email from the owner, extremely kind gentleman, spoke to him as well, because he wanted to have a conversation. Really took extra steps and is sending off a gift card. Kudos to him as an owner of a restaurant that really cares about his patrons. Read more

We went to the restaurant for dinner with couple of out of town guests. We have been dining at the restaurant few times and every time the food was good. The restaurant is nested in Kerr village which is less fancy than downtown Oakville, however the quality of the food ... is very consistent and with generous portions. They also offer seasonal specials. The wait staff were very friendly and tentative. They don’t have online booking systems that you have to call in to make the reservation.
