Delicious and fresh! Have been a regular here but was really impressed that even on good Friday with a one hour wait it was still a delicious meal. I chose this place according to the reviews on this page. I could not believe my eyes. The place looks like a dump. I got there at 5: 50 pm and I was the only customer in the place. Then when I got my food I soon ... found out why. The fish was not fully cooked, the batter was not cooked and gooey, the fries were the worst I have ever tasted and coleslaw terrible. I left my plate almost full and told the young man behind the counter that I could not finish my plate because everything was not cooked or not good and he never said a word and proceeded to charge me full price. Art's Fish & Chips is under new management as of Jan. 2016. Art's has always been superior to most fish & chip stores. My husband & I went there in early March 2016, and were pleased to see nothing had changed except the management. We went again today ... early May 2016 and boy how things have changed. Smaller order of fish and instead of the nice 4 oz pure white halibut. There was that brownish part left on the fish. The batter was soft and greasy instead of crisp. The fries were definitely not the same either. Fish & Chips are expensive and cutting back on quality is not the way to stay in business. People that buy a business and change what made the business profitable would be well advised to keep the quality up if they want that business to be a success.. Read more

I haven't been to other fish & chips places in Oakville, but the food Art's offers is very delicious. While the price is on the moderate side, the warm service and the great food makes me return here. I'm away from Oakville for a while, but I can't wait to bite ... in to the mouth-watering cod topped with malt vinegar and some coleslaw. Read more
