Me and my partner went here for a casual dinner, planning to rendevous somewhere else but our guts says go here, so we did. And it was one of the best decision ever (eating-wise). The desert was the only pic we got bcus we got too busy eating lol Besides ... the food, the server named Ruby was jolly and hospitable, she made us feel at home. August 8 is always my favorite sushi restaurant. The torched salmon and shrimp are so yummy and fresh. Waitress Deda has provided us excellent service

Had an incredible birthday dinner here! We came on a Monday, it was vibrant but enough space to be taken in even before our reservation time. Deda took care of us and she was wonderful. Amazing service, very kind, and they brought out a treat and sang happy birthday! Great ... sushi selection as well. Fresh and delicious. Large menu, nice servers, good food! Our table server was ok, didn’t seem to care to check on substitutions but the man who seemed like the host/manager was very kind and knowledgeable. GF - there’s a special section of gluten free options with lots of items listed there, gluten free soy ... sauce, and they can do even more outside of the section if you ask about it (ex. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops with no sauce). Read more

We first tried the AYCE at August 8 Brampton location and loved it. This time we wanted to try a different location and hence chose this one. Sadly this place fell way below per standard. We reached on a Friday afternoon, one adult, 4 older kids and one child at ... 3:15pm. We were told dinner starts in 15 minutes so we will have to pay for dinner, which we agreed. We started ordering food. Things came in bits and pieces. I understand that is how it is supposed to be but half of the stuff we had to order a second time to get it coz it was lost somewhere on the way. Desserts were old. There was no one to collect empty plates or provide napkins or for cleanup. In the end, we were also charged a 15% service charge because we were a group of six, even though they were all kids and one was actually much younger than 10. I don't mind paying the service charge but with this substandard food and service, and then a forced charge for it is absolutely unfair. I can't imagine what happens when the place is actually busy on weekend nights, when on a slow Friday afternoon there was no one to attend. Disappointed! Read more
