The Frog - North York, Ontario

I was here on Sunday and I have to tell you to check your receipt when you pay, because they add the tip to you without anyone asking you for permission and without anyone asking you if you were satisfied with the service or not! What permission do you have ... to do this? The tip is not mandatory and if I wanted to I would have added it myself and you have no right to do this yourself, when I called and said this no one cared and the manager did not talk to me because in fact the customer does not matter to them at all. No!!!! They told me that you were a big group, if the receipt shows how many people there were, I do not recommend this restaurant at all. In addition to the poor quality of the food, you will find the tables dirty and no one has cleaned them! I could not stay in the billiard room because of the bad smell!!! You don't believe in air freshener?! All in all, I am sorry that I spent my Sunday in this restaurant and I will never come back, especially for the bad customer service. Read more

Came here with a friend, the food was great and atmosphere quaint and homey. Extremely clean washrooms and spacious with lovely British decor. 4 stars though cause the servers looked rather bored and uninterested, hovering near the kitchen talking amongst themselves. Had to flag them down multiple times for water ... and condiments and food took over half an hour to arrive. The honey fried chicken and fries was delicious but a tad overpriced in my opinion with only 3 pieces of chicken but I guess the atmosphere made up for it. Don't feel obligated to tip here, the service sucks but everything else was great and it's nice to go to a quiet laid-back bar for once. Read more

First time coming here, the food was pretty good but the service was horrible. We wanted to get our check and had to wait 40 minutes for our server to come up to us. She would come up to the tables beside us pretty frequently but it always seemed like ... she was ignoring us until we finally managed to flag her down. We came at a time where there weren’t many people so I’m not sure why it took so long, but since we had other plans afterwards, it was frustrating. It's been a few years since I was last here and I feel like the food has gotten a lot better. The truffle fries were really good. And the pretzel was soft and fresh! I used to come here a lot after work for drinks but most recently I went ... with my family so it was a different, more pleasant experience on the weekend! Read more

I was in town from BC and ended up going to the Frog with another old friend who also happened to be in town visiting. I remember this pub from many years ago when I used to live in the area. I have to say, it didn't disappoint. I was ... thrilled to see the interior hadn't changed much from what I remember and that the pub still had that very cozy feel to it. We happened to be there unexpectedly on trivia night and what a fun time it was! Great host, awesome crowd of people and the bartenders/servers are extremely kind and attentive. Overall, it was an amazing and nostalgic evening. Thanks for the great time! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. Read more
