Miller Tavern - North York, Ontario

Attended this lovely gem for my birthday in November. It has a very cozy ambience. Staff was knowledgable and friendly. The food was some of the best I've tasted. Beautiful charming place to eat!

Miller Tavern is a landmark with a long presence in the history of this city. This rendition of the restaurant is more upscale, with service and decor to keep up with the new image. After we parked our car in the vast parking lot in the back of the restaurant, ... we were greeted by a hostess at the outdoor entrance of the establishment. She confirmed our reservation and led us to our table. The service throughout the meal was friendly, unobtrusive and efficient. The venue is perfect for brunch, dinner and business lunch. The seats are comfortable and the tables are placed generously. The cocktail and wine menus are on the extensive side, but not overwhelming. The menu offers a nice variety to meet wide dietary requirements. Our meals were well prepared and competently plated. I liked the vibe of this place; they have a private room that is good for work functions or private parties. I thought their food was over-salted (especially the greens that were served w the main) when i was there and flavours were a bit lacking in their steak ... sauce. I ordered two of the same drinks and i found that the first one was made significantly better than the second and i was a little disappointed about that. Overall i was here for a work function and the atmosphere was good; it is a central location in north york w free parking outside so it is quite convenient to get to, but im not sure I would come back outside of work. A beautiful Thursday, not too hot with loads of sun - perfect for the Miller Tavern patio. It's been fully revamped since our last visit and absolutely loved what they've done. Darcy & Peter looked after us like consummate professionals - superb quality of service. My friend had the Beef dip lunch sandwich ... with fries and I had the Cobb salad. He raced about his meal and had to take half home as the size was bigger than he expected (always a good thing!). My Cobb salad was delicious, with large chunks of bacon and a goodly amount of grilled chicken. Only negative (a small thing) was the inability to offer a hard boiled egg vs soft - I'm one who cannot stomach a runny yolk, so had to pass on it. Overall a fantastic afternoon and highly recommend. We celebrated a family member’s birthday at this restaurant, and everything was perfect! The food was delicious, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a wonderful setting for our celebration. The staff was attentive and made sure we had everything ... we needed.
