Cabo Cantina - Niagara Falls, Ontario

I don't hand out one stars very frequently at all but this is literally the worst restaurant food I have ever ordered. How this business stays open is beyond me. Every. Single. Meal. Was brought cold. The beer was incredibly flat and had no flavor. I had the carne tacos and ... the meat was wet and cold and seemed like it had been reheated. Of the 8 of us that ate here, not a single one of us enjoyed our meal. I wanted to rate lower but my partner loved their dinner, so we met in the middle. We ordered the Tequila Shrimp as an appetizer. Smelled a little funny but that didn't stop us. The shrimp themselves were bland but the spicy salsa it was served with was pretty good. ... Would be nice if they put some out on the table with some chips. My partner ordered a chicken burrito they were very happy with. I ordered the carne asada tacos. Thought I read they were supposed to be marinated skirt steak but what I got tasted like bland pot roast. There was so much that it covered up whatever flavor the guac or slaw may have had, which is a shame. I dug some slaw out to taste by itself and it was pretty good. Had to pile on the hot sauce to get the meat to taste like something, or eat a bunch of the meat first to taste anything else. Read more

Date Visited: July 20, 2016. Time: 3:00pm Was hoping that this Mexican eatery would be a perfect lunch spot for my visit, but I was wrong. Although my family were the only people at the restaurant at the time, service was unbelievably slow. The food quality was poor and the tastes ... were nothing close to authentic Mexican food. In fact you are better off getting food at Taco Bell, and that is saying something when Cabo Cantina is charging $15.99 + per entree. Ordered "chicken nachos for two" and recieved beef nachos instead. Server never came back to check on us so I couldn't make known we recieved the wrong food. The chips tasted extremely weird, almost like chemicals? We got all the toppings on the side for the nachos (as requested) and ... they all sucked. Worst guacamole I've ever had. This place was horrible. If I could give it no stars I would. Everything on the menu was just not good. I truly can't believe people think this place is good or even find it tasty. What is tasty about it?? I'll tell you.. NOTHING!!!! Our waiter was amazing ... but that's it. I even felt bad telling him how horrible it was. Overall don't even think about going. If you're in Niagara and everything if packed or full just starve yourself. Read more
