Vip Korean Restaurant - Niagara Falls, Ontario

Definitely would not have eaten here from the appearance of the restaurant outside snd inside but based on the reviews of the surrounding Korean restaurants and this one we decided to give it a shot. Now I have never been to a Korean restaurant before but wanted to try bi Bim ... bop. Based on my limited experience the food was good, place looked dated and the staff ( one older guy) was friendly enough and did his best to cater to us. I know western people might not come to this place cause it is small and looks old, but I have to tell you guys what you can get in Mandarin or other Asian buffets are completely Americanized food which are just like junk. This Korean restaurant is one if the ... only two REAL Asian restaurants I can find in Niagara area (another one is Pho Dau Bo Vietnamese reataurant). I always see huge buses dump Korean tourists to this place at dinner time, I feel like I am just in Korea. Doesn't this mean this place is much better than all other so-called Asian buffets? Their food is exactly what I had in Asia. I really like their #9 Korean grilled fish and #5 Korean steak. We go to this place almost every week. Unfortunately this restaurant will be closed in the end of Sep, 2016 cause the building is sold. The owner told me they will try to find a new place in this area in the next spring. One more thing, u have to call them before you go, cause when their tables are fully ordered by Korean tourists they will not take more people. In this cause u will get nothing. Read more

Went here w the family today. I come from MD (Northern VA region), where there are plenty of good Korean restaurants. Food here was pretty good comparable to food back home. We had kalbi there and it was good with decent amount of portion. Plenty of small dishes here and ... they don't mind give you refills on those as well. Service was pretty good as well; gave us a complimentary kalbi soup (generous of them). I wish they had a complimentary hot tea (barley), which is quite cheap that requires minimal amount of $/effort; this is something every Korean restaurant near D.C. has. Read more

Our family ate here on Christmas Day. Food was great and all dishes were authentic Korean cuisine. Kimchi chigae was amazing and we enjoyed sam gyup sal too!!! Lots of free parking.

Drove the 20 minutes with my wife to try VIP for the first time after reading the below good review. Arrived at 5:50pm Saturday. Sign said "Come in We're Open" and door was unlocked. Walked in, place was empty and the guy sat up quickly on the bench in the ... back section. He had been sleeping. Asked him if we can sit anywhere...He replied "Sorry, we're closed until 6:00pm". I told him his sign reads Open. He replied "No, Closed". We walked out and i watched him put his head back down. Too funny. lol. Won't be going back. Read more
